Twenty-one gauge is thin - 0.0329 in, thinner than the 20-gauge budget default - and saying so out loud is worth more than the silence you get from most cabinets in this bracket. Why this site is different
Gauge is a weight-derived index with uneven steps, so nobody converts it in their head. Every gauge on this site is shown in inches and millimeters, computed at render time from the published standard.
Slide ratings are per pair at full extension, and published guidance says to design at 70-80 percent of them. So a 120 lb drawer is a 96 lb drawer, and every page here uses the second number.
Roughly a third of the 56-inch cabinets on Amazon publish no body gauge. Where that is true, the page says Not published rather than filling in a plausible figure. The absence is information.
